New Walkers

Eighty percent of success is showing up. - Woody Allen

WHO IS A NEW WALKER?
Anyone who is starting out to walk with their family, or to explore Australia through family activities. Maybe you've always been interested but never found the time.

Which walks are Best?
The best walks are ones you enjoy, and are happy to do 3 or 4 times a week. There's no need to overextend yourself trying to be too adventurous, remember you're just starting out. A good 45 minute health walk that gets you a little breathless 3 times a week is an ideal starting point.

DID YOU KNOW?
walking is more popular than soccer or cycling. The only activity more popular is swimming.

Who can I walk with?
You don't HAVE to walk with anyone if you'd rather go alone till you become more confident.
You can easily join a
walking club, walk your dog  (or a neighbour's), you can even walk to the supermarket and back.

your dogs will love a walk

What about family walks

Keep on going, and the chances are that you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it.  I never heard of anyone ever stumbling on something sitting down
- Charles F. Kettering
We can help you find walking groups to join,  or make new friends on the forum. Check out great walks in your area or for a holiday, and see what's happening in the world of walking.
Walking is healthy, fun and cheap and can open a whole world of possibilities for you.
It won't be long before you realise what you've been missing out on all this time.
most councils and state roads and traffic authorities have maps of walking or cycling tracks on their websites. If you live in a city this is a great way to find out interesting walks for before or after work.
