DESCRIPTION:
Crossing mountain ranges and falling into deep valleys, the track takes walkers through a range of habitats - rainforest, eucalypt forests, open grazing country. There are fascinating natural features, including caves, sheer sandstone cliffs, waterfalls and panoramas of richly-forested valleys.
THERE:
Mini buses depart from Katoomba early morning to Explorers' Tree.

BACK:
Mini buses leave Jenolan mid afternoon and return to Katoomba.  
 
 
FACILITIES:
Campsites are located at Cox's River, Alum Creek and on the Black Range with facilities at Cox's River and Black Range. Accommodation at Caves House.
 
Take all your own food, tents and cooking equipment including fuel stoves. Camp fires are discouraged.
BEST TIME:
March to September is the most popular time.
 
HOW HARD IS IT REALLY?
Track is well maintained, easy to follow. The climb down Nellies Glen gives you rubber knees. The climb up to Black Range Camp requires patience.
 

FOOD & WATERCLOTHINGBOOKS & MAPSSAFETY

FOOD:
Take all your own food, tents and cooking equipment including fuel stoves as camp fires are not allowed.
 
WATER:
All water (including tank water) should be treated to minimise the risk of ill health. When walking, top-up your water supplies wherever possible. If ever in doubt about the water quality see:

TRACK FEES:
No fees are payable.

Staying Safe:
