FINISH: Manly (can be done reverse direction)

SPIT - MANLY ITINERARY                          START:  From the north end of Spit Bridge. Follow the well-defined path for 10 km.             END:  At Manly. Walk along the Corso to the ocean beach.

DESCRIPTION: This walk offers a different view of Sydney Harbour’s foreshores, as well as a number of surprises. The walk takes you through some of Sydney’s most desirable harbourside real estate, past gun emplacements, hidden beaches, subtropical rainforest, Aboriginal middens and tracts of wild coastal heath.

THERE & BACK: Bus from QVB or Wynyard to Spit Bridge.   Sydney Buses Limited weekend running   Manly Ferry back to Circular Quay.   Sydney Ferries

FACILITIES: There are  toilets at various spots on the track.   Take a day pack with lunch. There are a few cafes along the track which serve coffee. Also pack a towel and bathers for a swim.

BEST TIME: All year round. Summer is great for swimming at some of the beaches, while winter is enjoyable for fresh breezes and exercise.   HOW HARD IS IT REALLY? Track is well maintained and easy to follow. There is some climbing along with a spot of beach walking.    Rated Medium

FOOD: A great range of food is available at Manly, especially seafood.   WATER: Fresh water is available at some parks along the trail.   If ever in doubt about the water quality see: water purification

TRACK FEES: No track fees.

+  CLOSEST HELP?  Manly and various kiosks along the way. Staying Safe  Footing. You will walk over some rocky areas, so mind your footing and balance on wet days. Check your footwear for good grip and comfort.
