adventure.com.au welcomes all contributions that stimulate debate and discussion about walking in Australia. We do expect that all contributions respect the privacy and opinions of others and are courteous at all times.

We always attempt to provide a balanced and unbiased range of opinions about walking issues regardless of how emotive they may be. This may mean that you might agree or disagree strongly with some of our content and should this happen we can only ask for your tolerance and understanding.

You may contribute to our forum and content pages subject to the following terms and conditions. By contributing any content or through any use of adventure.com.au you expressly agree to be legally bound by these terms and conditions, which shall take effect immediately on your first use of adventure.com.au. If you do not agree to be legally bound by all the following terms please do not access and/or use adventure.com.au
 
General

1. adventure.com.au is owned by Adventure Australis Pty Ltd (ABN 24127239981) and any reference to adventure.com.au implicitly and without exception means Adventure Australis Pty Ltd.
2. adventure.com.au may change these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes online. We recommend that you review these terms and conditions regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes made by adventure.com.au. Continued use of adventure.com.au after changes have been posted means you agree to be legally bound by these terms and conditions as updates and/or amended.
3. Children’s contributions should be supervised by an adult. If you are under 16 please get a parent or guardian’s permission before taking part in any forum discussion. You must be 13 years of age or over to participate in the forum.
4. Never reveal any personal information about yourself or anyone else, and please do not include postal addresses of any kind. If you have a helpful address to share, inform the host of the relevant Forum area using the 'Contact Us' link, and they will promote it if they see fit.
5. The views and opinions expressed in adventure.com.au and associated Forum areas are those of members of the public and are not necessarily those of adventure.com.au
6. You may be held legally responsible for the content you submit to adventure.com.au
 
Use of adventure.com.au

7. adventure.com.au reserves the right to edit, remove or not publish any contribution if it is considered to be:
a. defamatory, or otherwise unlawful or that it violates laws regarding harassment, discrimination, privacy or contempt;
b. intentionally false or misleading;
c. an infringement of intellectual property rights or copyright. See below for further information on copyright;
d. abusive or offensive, including obscenity, blasphemy and racial vilification;
e. of nuisance value, inappropriate, off topic or vexatious. For example adventure.com.au reserves the right to reject contributions that have been widely canvassed in the forum. It also reserves the right to reject contributions from participants who seek to dominate the discussion;
f. compromising the privacy of yourself, other contributors or of adventure.com.au staff, or containing inappropriate personal information;
g. seeking to endorse commercial products or activities or to solicit business;
h. deliberate provocation of other community members;
i. a posting on behalf of a suspended member. This may lead to you also having your membership locked.
8. adventure.com.au reserves the right to use contributions for internal training and development purposes, to archive contributions and to republish contributions.
9. When you make a contribution to adventure.com.au you agree, by submitting your contribution, to grant adventure.com.au a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, play, make available to the public, and exercise all copyright and publicity rights with respect to your contribution worldwide and/or to incorporate your contribution in other works in any media now known or later developed for the full term of any rights that may exist in your contribution, and in accordance with privacy restrictions set out in the adventure.com.au Privacy Policy. If you do not want to grant to adventure.com.au the rights set out above, please do not submit your contribution.
10. Serious or repeated breaches of the terms and conditions may cause adventure.com.au to complain to the Internet Service Provider (ISP) of the person responsible, and in very serious cases, initiate legal action.

Copyright Protection

11. Material published on adventure.com.au is protected by the same laws of copyright which apply to books, videos and music. You should be aware that copyright resides with the owner of the material and adventure.com.au does not own all rights to all content published on the site. Unless expressly stated otherwise you are not permitted to copy, reproduce, republish, download, post, broadcast, transmit, make available to the public, or otherwise use adventure.com.au content in any way except for your own personal, non-commercial use. You also agree not to adapt, alter or create a derivative work from any adventure.com.au content except for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other use of adventure.com.au content requires prior written permission from adventure.com.au and/or the owner of material copyright.
12. All names, icons, logos, images and fonts identifying adventure.com.au or third parties and their products and services are subject to copyright and trade marks of adventure.com.au and/or third parties and cannot be used without written permission from adventure.com.au and/or third parties.
13. Further to paragraph 9, by submitting your contribution to adventure.com.au, you:
(a) warrant that your contribution:
(i) is your own original work and that you have the right to make it available to the adventure.com.au for all the purposes specified above;
(ii) is not defamatory; and
(iii) does not infringe any law; and
(b) indemnify adventure.com.au against all legal fees, damages and other expenses that may be incurred by adventure.com.au as a result of your breach of the above warranty; and
(c) waive any moral rights in your contribution for the purposes of its submission to and publication on adventure.com.au and the purposes specified above.

Forum Rules

14. You agree to use the adventure.com.au forum in accordance with the following Forum Rules.
About your posts:
a. Contributions must be civil and tasteful
b. No disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour: contributions must be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or contributed with the intention of causing trouble.
c. No unlawful or objectionable content: unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable.
d. If you use multiple logins for the purpose of disrupting the community or annoying other users you may have action taken against your accounts.
e. Be patient: users of all ages and abilities may be taking part in the relevant Community.
f. No spamming or off-topic material: we don't allow the submission of the same or very similar contributions many times. Please don't re-submit your contribution to more than one discussion, or contribute off-topic material in subject-specific areas.
g. No advertising
h. Contributions containing languages other than English may be removed.
i. No impersonation
j. No inappropriate (e.g. vulgar, offensive etc) user names
k. You may not refer to specific URLs (web site addresses) unless allowed under the relevant local house rules. If you know of a worthy web site relevant to the discussion topic, please inform the host of the Community area.
l. Deliberate misuse of the complaints facility is not permitted. If you persist in doing this action may be taken against your account.
15. If any of these terms are determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the laws of any state or country in which these terms are intended to be effective, then to the extent and within the jurisdiction in which that term is illegal, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and the remaining terms shall survive, remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable.
 
If you breach these Terms of Use

16. If you fail to abide by these Forum Rules (and/or any variations in the relevant local house rules) when taking part in an adventure.com.au service, you will be sent an e-mail which informs you why your contribution has been failed or edited. This mail will also include a warning that continuing to break the rules may result in action being taken against your account or accounts.
17. This action may include your relevant account or accounts being placed into pre-moderation or a temporary or permanent suspension of your ability to participate in any or all of adventure.com.au Forum areas.
18. If you post or send offensive or inappropriate content anywhere on or to adventure.com.au or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on adventure.com.au, and such behaviour is considered to be serious and/or repeated, adventure.com.au may use whatever information that is available to it about you to stop any further such infringements. This may include informing relevant third parties such as your employer, school or email provider about the infringement/s.
19. adventure.com.au reserves the right to delete any contribution, or take action against any account, at any time, for any reason.
